Play with Clay Workshop: Ages 8-14

Service Description

Instructor: Michele Laverty Wednesday-Friday - 9:30AM-12:00PM Course Dates: July 23, 24, 25 & 26 Cost: $145 Location: ACAA 45 Forest Ave, Ambler, PA Home and Habitat Do you want to be an octopus in the sea? A gnome in a cave? Live in a tree fort? Or a teapot? What is home to you? What does your fantasy habitat look like? This week we will explore different ideas of home, design our own vision and create them in clay. We will tell stories, sketch and develop our ideas. Then we will explore turning our vision into the 3rd dimension with clay. Students will learn about forms, texture, surface decoration and craftsmanship. Dress to play. All skill levels and abilities are welcome. Work will be fired in our kiln and available for pick up three weeks after class has ended. Students are welcome to bring their own sketchbook with ideas to share on day one. About the instructor: Michele Laverty has been a ceramic artist since she was a kid. For decades Michele trained and practiced as a Corporate Interior Designer. After becoming a mother, she pursued graduate studies in Art Education. She has since been teaching art and ceramics to students from age 3 to adult. Michele would like to live with otters in the river. Refund Policy Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space. If you cancel your class after registering and reserving a space, you will receive a credit good for one (1) year that can be applied to a future class.
