Service Description

Instructor: Kathy Bohn 8 Weeks Course Dates: March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7 Time: 9:30AM-12PM Cost: $200 member $215 nonmember Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA Explore the world of Pastel using soft pastel sticks, NuPastel, and Pastel Pencils. We’ll be creating still lifes, landscapes, portraits, and abstracts (2 weeks per style). Making marks with the tops and sides of your tools, dragging to create lines, turning, and twisting to achieve textures, let’s create some fun visions using an impressionistic or abstract styling. Reference photos are available and still life setups will be created to work from. Sketching basics will be practiced based on standard drawing practices using reference photos or graphite sketches (time will be given for sketches to be done from free hand or from the reference photo). Kathy will instruct you through every step of this process and work with the individual needs of her students. This class is for all skill levels. See the list of materials you will need to attend this class. BIO Kathy is an experienced artist who has lived in many parts of the country throughout her life. Her varied background and personal vision in the arts has enabled her to see the world from a different perspective which she will bring to life in her teaching. Kathy works in different mediums such as gourd carving, wood burning and enjoys pastels. From the woods and trails of Pennsylvania to the lakes and mountains of Washington state, the urban life of Los Angeles and Sacramento, California, the sands and balloons of Albuquerque, and the markets around the streets of Santa Fe, Kathy has traveled to Montana and many other places. She spent eight years studying the Native American traditions and the rancher's prairie lives while teaching their children about some of our great Artistic masters. See her work at Refund Policy Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
