Instructor: Michele Laverty 6 Weeks Course Dates: June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 9, & 16 Time: 12:30PM-3:00PM Cost: $215 members $230 nonmembers Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA Explore hand building and sculpting in this class Whether new to clay, or coming with experience, we will have a lighthearted time playing with mud. Students will learn about forms, texture, surface decoration and glazes. Dress to play. All skill levels and abilities are welcome. New students will be guided with appropriate lessons. Returning students will be supported in their own projects. There will be an additional $25.00 clay and glaze fee paid to the instructor at the beginning of class. About the Instructor Michele Laverty is a ceramic artist and printer based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Michele has been creating since she and her childhood friend Lauren mastered mud pies under the pine trees of Woodcliffe Avenue. For multiple decades Michele trained and practiced as a Corporate Interior Designer. After becoming a mother, she taught art to students from age three through adult. During this time, Michele transitioned her mindset from Designer to Artist. Now Michele works with porcelain and stoneware fiber-clays (a.k.a. paper clay) to extricate her own artistic expressions. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
