Welcome to Wilson's Pet Pantry

Supporting Our Homebound Neighbors and Their Companions

At Montco SAAC, we recognize that supporting the companion animals of our clients is just as essential as the nutrition services we provide for the seniors themselves.

A pet is often a primary source of comfort and emotional stability for homebound adults.

Wilson’s Pet Pantry was established to ensure that these vital bonds are never broken by financial or physical limitations.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Meals on Wheels America - Loves Pets Grant for sponsoring this project. Their support allows us to maintain a program that treats pet care as a core part of our mission to help seniors age in place with dignity.

How the Pantry Started

Wilson’s Pet Pantry began as a response to a clear need in our community. We saw that many of our neighbors were making difficult financial sacrifices to care for their animals. The program was named after Wilson, a Labradoodle emotional support dog on our social services team who is a beloved presence at our centers. Inspired by Wilson’s connection to our seniors, we formalized this pantry to remove the burdens of pet ownership for our homebound participants.

What We Provide

Our goal is to meet the specific needs of every pet in the program. We offer more than just standard pet food. We are able to accommodate specialized and prescription diets for animals with health conditions or sensitive systems. Additionally, through the generous donations of our community, we provide a variety of essential supplies, including:

  • High quality dog and cat food

  • Specialized medical diets

  • Leashes and collars

  • Toys and enrichment items to keep pets' minds active

Eligibility and Cost

To qualify for Wilson’s Pet Pantry, you must be a current Meals on Wheels client of Montco SAAC. This is a complimentary service provided at no cost to the client. Our volunteers deliver pet supplies directly to your home alongside your standard meal deliveries, ensuring that you and your companion can stay healthy and happy together.

If you are a current client and would like to learn more, please contact your site coordinator to discuss how we can support your pet’s needs.
