Instructor: Bassam Milli 7 Weeks Time: Wednesday, 6:00pm to 8:30pm Cost: $235.00 This Acrylic Painting class is for the beginner, as well as the experienced student who would like to learn the skills necessary to paint on canvas. We will go step by step and cover color mixing theories and different blending techniques. In this class we will be working from photographs provided by the instructor or ones that you bring in. Students will learn about the properties of acrylic paints, using brushes and a palette knife to achieve different effects on your canvas. To start your list of materials will be basic as we expand on this medium. Material list One 8 x 10 canvas, to start Primary colors: red, blue, yellow and white Various brush sizes ¼” ½” 1” Palette knife Acrylic mediums, matte, gloss, gel or paste. Rags and masking tape. White gesso. Sketchbook. BIO Bassam Milli brings a rich, multicultural background spanning fine arts, design, and technical expertise. He studied and served as a Teacher of Fine Arts at Damascus University in Syria, where he honed his classical foundation and shared his expertise with aspiring artists. In addition to his university tenure, he taught art in various art centers and cultural centers throughout Damascus. Expanding his creative toolkit into the digital and technical realms, Bassam furthered his studies at the Institute of Electronics with a Graphic Design Program in Moscow, Russia, where he also focused on traditional drawing and painting.
