Service Description

Instructor: Harold Gans 6 Weeks Course Dates: June 4, 11, 18, July 2, 9, 16 (No class June 25) Time: 9:30AM - 11:30AM Cost: $190 Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA Working from a photo provided by the Instructor we will bring these to life. This session we will have photos of “the Homes of Charleston” as well as local Victorian Train Stations provided by the instructor. We will start with sketches to develop your drawing. You will also learn the importance of working with the correct materials and paper to achieve a finished professional look to your artwork. The majority of time will be devoted to drawing and refining your skills. Within this class you’ll learn the importance of composition, shading, shadows and perspective. We will have discussions on value, hue, and color while working with artists’ pencils, watercolors, or watercolor pencils. The skills you develop in this class can be applied to any medium. This class is engaging and informative with particular emphasis on architectural elements in your work. A list of materials is provided, and Mr. Gans will contact you regarding these materials. All skill levels are welcomed. Student materials Pencils – 2H, 4H Ink pens MICRON 003, 005, 01, 08 and Brush Artists’ Pencils, Watercolor pencils, 12 or Watercolor set Paper 11” x 15” Strathmore Watercolor, 140 lbs. or 11” x 14” Strathmore Bristol, 100 lbs. Erasers Papermate Pink Pearl, Master Touch Kneaded, Staedtler Mars plastic, Venus /Type-E Rase eraser T-square - 12” plastic Drafting Triangles - 8” set of two (45 degrees, 60 degrees, includes protractor & French curves) Ruler - 12” plastic Sandpaper Pad Erasing Shield - ER 26 Stainless steel Brush – 4” Horsehair Masking Tape - Scotch or 3M 2S26-PI-RG


Cancellation Policy

Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space. If you cancel with two week's notice before the first session, you will receive a credit good for one (1) year that can be applied to a future class.
