Service Description
Instructor: Harold Gans 6 Weeks Course Dates: Jan. 15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19 Time: 9:30AM-11:30AM Cost: $145 member $160 nonmember Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA Do you admire the great architectural age and variety of homes, churches, train stations and small towns in our region? Working from the instructor’s extensive library of photos, as well as students’ own photos, we will bring these to life. We’ll start with sketches to develop your drawing. You will also learn the importance of working with the correct materials and paper to achieve a finished professional look to your artwork. The majority of time will be devoted to drawing and refining your skills. Within this class you’ll learn the importance of composition, shading, shadows and perspective. We’ll have discussions on value, hue, and color while drawing with pen and ink and adding color with your choice of pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolors or acrylics. The skills you develop in this class can be applied to any medium. This class is engaging and informative with particular emphasis on architectural elements in your work. A list of materials is provided, and the instructor will contact you regarding these materials. All skill levels are welcomed. Student materials Pencils – 2H & 4H Graphite Pencils Your choice of colored pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolors or acrylics. 11” x 15” Strathmore Watercolor paper, 140 lbs. Or 11” x 15” Strathmore Bristol Paper, smooth surface Erasers Papermate Pink Pearl Master Touch, Kneaded, Staedtler Mars plastic, Venus /Type-E Rase eraser T-square - 12” plastic Drafting Triangles - 8” set of two (45 degrees, 60 degrees, includes protractor) Ruler - 12” opaque plastic Sandpaper Pad Erasing Shield - ER 26 Stainless steel Brush – 4” Horsehair Circle and oval templates, French curve
Cancellation Policy
Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space. If you cancel your class after registering and reserving a space, you will receive a partial credit good for one (1) year that can be applied to a future class. All Promo codes and Membership codes must be applied at the time of registration.
