Giving at Montco SAAC

At Montco SAAC, we’re passionate about empowering aging adults in Montgomery County to live with dignity, connection, and joy.

Every day, people walk through our doors, bringing their wisdom, stories, and spirit. They’re not just here for a warm meal or a fun activity—they’re here to build community. To share a laugh. To spark a new friendship. To feel truly valued.

And that’s exactly what happens here.

It’s in the health and wellness classes where their collective learning forms deep bonds. It’s in the lunchroom, where coffee and conversation turn into lasting bonds. It’s in the Meals on Wheels delivery, where a check-in with our volunteer drivers becomes the highlight of their day.

Your support makes this vibrant community possible.

By giving, you help keep our programs running, meals coming, and connections thriving. You’re ensuring that aging adults in Montgomery County—your neighbors, maybe even someone close to you—continue to live full, meaningful lives.

Please consider making a gift today. It’s not just about programs; it’s about celebrating the strength and spirit of the people we serve. Because growing older should be about living boldly, never fading away.

Planned and Estate Giving

Leaving a legacy gift to Montco SAAC is a profound way to ensure that your values and commitment to our community endures for generations. Your thoughtful planning can provide vital support for our programs and services, helping us to continue offering a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for senior adults. By including Montco SAAC in your plans, you not only honor your life's passions but also create a lasting impact that will be remembered and cherished by countless individuals and families.

We can help you with your planned giving by contacting us at hello@montcosaac.org.

Gifts of Stock

By donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares held for more than one year, you can make a significant contribution without using cash. This method allows you to claim a federal income tax charitable deduction for the full appreciated value of the securities. Additionally, you will not incur capital gains tax, making this a cost-effective way to give.

Gift in Your Will (Estate Gifts)

A charitable bequest made through your will can ensure your legacy lives on through Montco SAAC. You can specify a particular dollar amount, asset, or percentage of your net estate. For more information on leaving an estate gift, please contact us, and we will be delighted to collaborate with you and your financial advisors.

Sample Bequest Language

  • Specific Amount: "I give, devise, and bequeath $____ to Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County (Montco SAAC), TAX I.D. # 23-1659451. Mailed to: 536 George Street, Norristown, PA 19401.

  • Remainder of an Estate: "I give, devise, and bequeath to Montco SAAC, TAX I.D. # 23-1659451 all [or state the fraction or percentage] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal."

IRA Beneficiary Gifts

Designating Montco SAAC as a beneficiary of your IRA can be a tax-efficient way to support our mission. Your IRA can be heavily taxed if left to heirs, but gifting it to charity incurs no tax, allowing your full donation to benefit the community.

Donor Advised Funds

Beyond making gifts from your Donor Advised Fund during your lifetime, you have options for distribution:

  1. Designate a successor (often children or grandchildren) to continue distributions.

  2. Allocate the remainder to Montco SAAC.

  3. Allow the sponsoring charity to use the remainder according to its mission, which might not align with your passions as closely as Montco SAAC would.

Gifts of Real Estate

Consider the following options for giving real estate:

  • Outright Gift: Donate your property directly.

  • Life Estate: Retain the right to use your property for life while gifting it to Montco SAAC.
