Instructor: Pauline Braun 8 Weeks Course Dates: March 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8 Cost: $200 members $215 nonmembers Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA In this class you will learn how to create a painting that will start with the basics of watercolor. I will introduce color theory techniques that will help you enhance your paintings and bring them to life. Students may work abstractly or from a photograph that they brought into class. We will be trying new color combinations and paint applications. This class is geared toward any level and is truly enjoyable. Please see the materials list so you’re prepared for the first class. Materials List Watercolor paper, Arches and Strathmore, 140 lb. cold press Sketch pad for studies Brushes - #2, #8, #12 watercolor brushes only Watercolor Paints Brands - Windsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Dick Blick or Utrecht Colors - Windsor yellow, medium red, alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue #2 pencil, water container, kneaded eraser, paper towels, palette to hold paints About the Instructor In 1980, Pauline started cutting into wood and painting cutouts. She sold her work at craft shows, and so began her art career. Pauline earned an associate degree in Fine Arts from the Montgomery County Community College and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has taught at numerous local art centers and has won many awards in shows throughout Montgomery County. Pauline served on the board of the Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center, was Director and taught painting at Manayunk Art Center from 2006-2010, and has been teaching at ACAA since 2016. Refund Policy Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
