Instructor: Ann Brennan 7 Weeks Time: 9:30AM-11:30AM Course Dates: Monday, Jan. 13, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24, Mar. 3 Cost: $195 members $210 nonmembers Location: ACAA 45 Forest Ave, Ambler, PA This class is designed with both the beginner and advanced water-colorist in mind. It will cover everything you need to know to become a water-colorist and how to improve and achieve greater success with your watercolors. Basics will be taught to beginners and tips and tricks will be shared with the more advanced students. Ann focuses on the individual needs of each student in an effort to have everyone grow and learn. Material List for Watercolor A-Z PAPER -Medium Weight 140lbs -Cold Press -100% rag (Arches, Fabriano, Laquarelle) BRUSHES It is better to buy 1 good brush rather than 2 bad ones. Kolinsky Sable or Sable Brushes are the best you can buy. Sableline or Sable Essence are blends of sable and taklon fiber but very good. Natural fibers are the best for painting with watercolor. Round Brush #10 or 12 Flat Brush 1” or ¾” PAINTS For Cake watercolors I recommend the Pelikan set of 12 Transparent Watercolors For Tube watercolors I strongly suggest you buy the best watercolors you can afford Artist Grade that are considered among the best are Winsor Newton, MC Graham, and Daniel Smith. Three Tubes are all that are needed: They are the primary colors and from them you can mix anything. RED - Naphthol Crimson, Primary Red, True Red, Grumbacher Red, or Winsor Red BLUE – Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue YELLOW- Lemon Yellow, Yellow Hansa Light, or Winsor Yellow NOT RECOMMEND Chinese White or Ivory Black OTHER EQUIPMENT #2B pencil, White Eraser, Natural Sponge and Cellulose Sponge, Palette for Colors, Spray Bottle Atomizer, Turkish Towel, Mat, Xacto, Pocket Knife, Old Toothbrush, Salt (Kosher, Sea or Table), Drawing Board
Cancellation Policy
Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space. If you cancel your class after registering and reserving a space, you will receive a credit good for one (1) year that can be applied to a future class.
