Service Description

Instructor: Kathy Bohn 4 Weeks Course Dates: Tuesday, Nov. 12, 19, Dec. 3, & 10 Time: 9:30AM-11:30AM Cost: $150 member $165 nonmember Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave. Ambler, PA Create beautiful pastel drawings using pastel pencils, NuPastels, and Soft Pastels. Kathy Bohn will walk you through the mark making methods which will allow you to create a beautiful winter flower scene - either landscape or still life. Poinsettias, pine boughs, berries, and ribbons will be the subjects for our focus. Kathy will show you basic shape creation and how to find the beauty of light and shadow in your composition using the tools of the pastel medium. BIO Kathy is an experienced artist who has lived in many parts of the country throughout her life. Her varied background and personal vision in the arts has enabled her to see the world from a different perspective which she will bring to life in her teaching. Kathy works in different mediums such as gourd carving, wood burning and enjoys pastels. See her work at www.bohnsbones.com. Supplies needed: • Faber Castell 72 Color Soft Pastel Set or a minimum of 24 color soft pastel set • Faber Castell Pastel Pencil set of 24 • NuPastels • Pastel Paper - Canson Mi Teintes 9 x 12” • Chamois “Shammy” cloth 5”x7” washed, dried softened • #2 Blending Stubs • Staedtler Sandpaper Block wooden paddle • White plastic eraser - flat • 12” ruler • #6 Filbert brush for erasing and blending • Tombow Mono Zero Round Eraser • Smock for clothing protection • N95 mask to protect your lungs from the pastel dust • 11" x 14” foam core board • Tracing paper to protect your art creations Refund Policy Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances a class must be cancelled. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
