Instructor: Michele Laverty Days: Tuesdays 12:30PM-3:00PM Class Dates: 8 weeks, Sept 12, 19, 26, Oct 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 Cost: $260 members $275 nonmembers (Includes all supplies and lab fees) Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA Expand your creative spirit by playing with clay. Join Michele in a class focusing on craftsmanship and expression. Get comfortable with clay as a medium in hand building and sculpture. We will explore forms, texture, surface decoration and glazes. Dress to play. All skill levels and abilities are welcome. About the Instructor Michele Laverty is a ceramic artist and printer based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Michele has been creating since she and her childhood friend Lauren mastered mud pies under the pine trees of Woodcliffe Avenue. For multiple decades Michele trained and practiced as a Corporate Interior Designer. After becoming a mother, she taught art to students from age three through adult. During this time, Michele transitioned her mindset from Designer to Artist. Now Michele works with porcelain and stoneware fiber-clays (a.k.a. paper clay) to extricate her own artistic expressions. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
