Service Description

Instructor: Michele Laverty Course Dates: 4 Weeks Thurs Nov 16, 30, Dec 7, & 14 Time: 12:30PM-3PM Cost: $175 members $180 nonmembers Location of Class: ACAA, 45 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA Explore hand building and sculpting with clay in this abbreviated four week session. Whether new to clay, or coming with experience, we will have a lighthearted time playing with mud. Students will learn about forms, texture, surface decoration and glazes. Dress to play. All skill levels and abilities are welcome. New students will be guided with appropriate lessons. Returning students will be supported in their own projects. There will be an additional $20.00 clay and glaze fee paid to the instructor at the beginning of class. BIO Michele Laverty is a ceramic artist based in the suburbs of Philadelphia. For decades Michele trained and practiced as a Corporate Interior Designer. After becoming a mother, she pursued graduate studies in Art Education. She has since been teaching art and ceramics to students from age 3- adult. Michele’s favorite medium has always been clay. Now Michele works with porcelain to extricate her own artistic expressions. She continually studies with other artists and recently returned from Bali after spending two weeks working with a team of Australian ceramic artists. When that happens, we will be happy to credit you for another class or a different session throughout the year. This credit will be good for one (1) year and can be used for any class that has availability and space.
